Event review: XiTrust PORSCHE SPORTS CUP SUISSE 2023

It was that time of the year again at the end of April. For the 10th time, XiTrust invited customers, partners and employees to the PORSCHE SPORTS CUP SUISSE event at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. The day was not just about fast cars, however, but above all about the potential applications of future-oriented technologies. So, while the XiTrust Porsche was warming up in the Porsche marquee to later do its laps on the track, more than 100 guests gathered in the Media Lounge and listened intently to the speakers’ presentations.

Quantum computing for breakfast: how tomorrow's technologies are influencing today's economy

Damir Bogdan, CEO of Quantum Basel Infinity, Head of the Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computing and member of the Board of Directors of XiTrust Switzerland, kicked off the event. He began his keynote speech with the words: “Here and now I want to confuse you at a higher level.” And to a certain extent, he certainly succeeded.

It was particularly impressive to hear how versatile the areas of application of this technology already are, especially in combination with artificial intelligence. In racing, for example, quantum computers and AI have already been used for several years. Primarily with the aim of increasing speed even further, for example by improving aerodynamics or optimising the alignment of the rear wings. Currently, however, Porsche is primarily looking for ways to make its vehicles more sustainable with the help of quantum computing and AI.

Digitalisation with strategy

Christoph Unger and Dennis Drohmann from Rubicon then addressed the central questions of digitalisation in their presentation. What characterises the term digital transformation? What is the status quo: where do the majority of companies stand when it comes to digitalising key business processes? In precisely this context, they presented how Acta Nova and Document Partner are revolutionising the business world with MOXIS and Low Code/No Code.

SAP meets MOXIS

Martin Koch, Managing Director of CloudDNA and an absolute SAP expert, then spoke about successful employee management with SAP SuccessFactors and MOXIS. He presented the full functional scope of SAP SuccessFactors in the area of human resources – from talent management to core HR and payroll all the way to employee experience management. He also demonstrated specific MOXIS use cases, such as employment contracts, relocation, salary increases and employee onboarding processes. Koch used the example of recruiting to illustrate the simple and innovative architecture of the MOXIS SAP add-on. By the way, here is a very interesting video on the topic of MOXIS in SAP.

Not afraid of the audit

We then continued directly with SAP. Bettina Lisa Hetzmannseder from INFORMATICS and Stefan Haas from ÖBB explained how customers benefit from MOXIS and the SAP add-on RTA in audit and legal compliance processes. Thanks to full SAP integration, there are no interfaces to other systems and no media disruptions. MOXIS leaves a legally valid note in the document; subsequent changes invalidate the signature. In short: MOXIS ensures legal conformity. Finally, Stefan Haas provided exciting insights into the practical application of RTA at ÖBB. These include the ÖBB Infrastruktur AG, which is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of the railway infrastructure, and ÖBB Technische Services, which is responsible for the maintenance of vehicles and their components. Fun fact: How much paperwork do you think needs to be stored during the entire service life of a train? The answer is 3 containers. Well, would you have known that?

The electronic signature as a catalyst for digitalisation

The subsequent panel discussion focussed on this topic. Wolfgang Walzer and Sophie Riegler from the Central IT Service of the University of Vienna, Wolfgang Teschner, Head of IT at voestalpine Stahl Donawitz and Georg Kotsis, Head of Enterprise Management at Zeta Biopharma shared their views on the digitalisation process in their companies, as well as obstacles and braking points and whether MOXIS serves as a catalyst here.

In an organisation this large, with 10,000 employees and 90,000 students, it takes an incredible amount of effort to introduce new tools and really get customers on board in terms of change management, explains Wolfgang Walzer. “We still have a long way to go, but we have already achieved a lot.” According to him, MOXIS was introduced at the speed of light in order to digitalise administrative processes. A key project now is to integrate the qualified electronic signature even more, including in the direction of SAP. Sophie Riegler regards the central IT service as taking on the role of enabler. “We are the backbone that ensures the core business of research and teaching works.” MOXIS is now an important foundation for daily business.

As Head of IT at voestalpine, Wolfgang Teschner can already look back on a 10-year partnership with XiTrust. And yet the digitalisation journey at voestalpine is far from over. From Teschner’s point of view, technical solutions are rarely the main problem, especially in strongly process-orientated companies. “You have to digitalise in the right direction. You have to pick up the people behind the processes, convince them of the content and walk the path together with them.” Georg Kotsis agrees with Teschner here: “First and foremost, you have to reach out to those who will be working with the digital solutions.” Parallel to the digital transformation, Zeta is focusing on outsourcing software development and customisation processes in the specialist departments. When it comes to digitalisation, Kotsis believes the company is still in the early stages. Nevertheless, digitalisation has already been included as a core process and has now become an additional pillar in the innovation area. In this context, the digital signature solution at Zeta is an important building block in the overall roadmap of digital planning and realisation processes.

After lunch, all guests went to the KR-Racing paddock and racing tent for a final networking session. The final verdict on the day’s impressions? Let’s give the floor to some of our guests.

“Mega”, “lots of impressions, lots of new things to see”, “incredibly captivating”,

“an extremely inspiring day.”

We could not have said it better ourselves. Thanks to everyone who attended. We look forward to next time.
